Welcome to North Elmsley Public School. We are nestled in the hamlet of Port Elmsley, half-way between Perth and Smiths Falls. We draw from both areas and have a school population of around 70 students. If you are new to us, welcome! If you are returning, welcome back! We are an intimate learning community where all learners and learning styles are valued and celebrated.
NEPS is an essential fixture in our community. We have an amazing staff who are dedicated to fostering a rich, welcoming, and inclusive educational experience for every student. We are known as the small school with a big heart. Our team is focused on implementing teaching practices that support each student’s needs (deliberate practice, whole group, small group and individual instruction) and utilizing resources to enhance language and mathematics programming. We are also using Mindfulness and Experiential Learning opportunities to support student learning - every child learns in a different way.
We are very proud of the strong sense of community that we have established. Everyone at our school is a KNIGHT (our school mascot) and we believe in supporting our students in all aspects of their development, physical, emotional, and intellectual.
A strong parent-school relationship is key! We value the active involvement of parents as they are the first and most important teachers in a child's life. Through an active partnership, we can work together to meet the individual needs of each learner.
Communication between home and school is an essential aspect in building success for students. We update our school Facebook page regularly with important updates to school life, including school calendars, newsletters, and upcoming events.
If you have questions or concerns about our school, please contact me either via email at [email protected] or at the school.
Yours truly,
Andrew Thorp
